Taoide is designed with privacy in mind. Location data is used solely to find your nearest tide station and fetch local weather. Tide predictions are stored on your device for offline use. Weather and marine data are fetched from public open-data APIs using only your coordinates and are never linked to your identity. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

1. Information Collection

Taoide does not collect any personal information. The app does not require user accounts, registration, or any form of personal identification.

2. Data Storage

The application stores preferences locally on your device, including:

Saved beach locations and favourites
Tide reminder preferences
Display and theme settings
Cached tide predictions for offline use

This data never leaves your device and cannot be accessed by us or any third parties.

3. Permissions

The app may request the following device permissions:

Storage — To cache tide predictions for offline access and save your preferences locally on your device
Location — Used to find your nearest tide station and fetch local weather, sea temperature, and wave data
Notifications — Used to send tide reminders at your chosen time before low or high tide

All permissions are used solely for app functionality. No data from these permissions is collected or transmitted.

4. Third-Party Services

Taoide does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services. The app functions completely independently without external dependencies.

5. Children's Privacy

This application is suitable for users of all ages. Since we don't collect any personal information, there are no special provisions required for users under 13 years of age (COPPA) or under 16 years of age (GDPR).

6. Data Security

As all data is stored locally on your device and we maintain no servers or databases, there is no risk of data breaches from our end. Your preferences are as secure as your device itself.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be reflected in the app's update notes with a revised "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
