What kind of IT company is YAM?
We are a software development and web engineering company. We build custom web applications, business systems, websites and integrations for Dublin businesses. We are not an IT support or helpdesk provider: our work is building and maintaining the digital products your business runs on.
Can you replace our current IT services provider?
It depends on what they do for you. If your current provider builds and maintains your web applications, customer portals, websites or integrations, then yes. If you need someone to manage workstations, printers, networks or email accounts, that is a different kind of IT company and we would not be the right fit.
How is a project priced?
By scope. We review what the system needs to do, write a specification and send a fixed written price. Ongoing support and maintenance can be quoted separately as a monthly agreement.
Do you offer ongoing IT support?
For the systems we build, yes. We offer maintenance agreements that cover updates, security patches, monitoring, bug fixes and feature additions. We do not offer general desktop or network support.
Can you work with our existing systems?
Usually, yes. If your CRM, accounting system, payment provider or other tool has an API, we can connect new software to it. We also build middleware and data pipelines to link systems that do not talk to each other natively.
Where is the data hosted?
On EU cloud infrastructure by default. We choose hosting that meets GDPR requirements and set up automated backups, monitoring and access controls as part of the project.
Do we own the code?
Yes. Source code, hosting accounts, domain and admin access are all registered to your business. Third-party libraries retain their own licences, which we document. You are free to continue development with any team.
How long does a typical project take?
A focused tool or website is often live in six to ten weeks. Larger systems are built in phases so you can use parts of the system while the rest is developed. We agree milestones and timelines in writing.
