Laois sits at the centre of the country where the M7 and M8 meet, with Portlaoise as its county town and growing commuter towns such as Portarlington and Mountmellick. Local businesses serve customers who travel in from three or four counties, and visitors who come for Electric Picnic or the Slieve Bloom Mountains.
