Custom software for NI businesses that outgrow off-the-shelf

Northern Ireland has a strong base of manufacturing, engineering, agri-food, logistics and professional services firms, many of which trade on both sides of the border and beyond. At some point, the generic tools stop fitting: the stock system does not handle dual-currency pricing, the booking platform does not match your actual rules, or the sales team is copying data between three screens that should talk to each other.

Custom software development in Northern Ireland means building a system that works the way your business actually operates. It runs in a browser, so there is nothing to install, your team logs in from any device, and the data is yours. We scope, build and hand over the code with full documentation, so you are never locked in.

What we build

Bespoke software solutions for Northern Ireland

Web-based business systems

Internal tools, operations platforms, workflow management and reporting dashboards that replace spreadsheets and manual tracking.

Customer and trade portals

Logins for clients, trade customers or partners to view orders, download documents, check account balances and manage their own data.

Integrations and middleware

Connect your accounting, CRM, stock, payment and shipping systems so data flows automatically instead of being retyped.

Cross-border tools

Dual-currency pricing, VAT logic for ROI and UK customers, separate delivery zones and payment routing that handles both jurisdictions.

Legacy replacement

Move from outdated desktop software, Access databases or tangled spreadsheets to a modern web system, with your data migrated and staff trained.

Dashboards and reporting

Live views of the numbers that matter: production, sales, deliveries, compliance. Built into the system, not bolted on afterwards.

Cross-border

Software development firms that understand the border

Dual currency

Prices in GBP and EUR where needed, with conversion logic that follows your commercial rules, not just a live rate.

VAT and tax rules

Different VAT rates, registration thresholds and invoicing requirements for NI, ROI and GB customers, implemented to your agreed specification and verified with your tax advisor.

Delivery and service areas

Separate zones, lead times and pricing for deliveries or services that cross the border.

Payment routing

Accept payments from UK and Irish card holders and banks, with the right settlement currency for each.

GDPR and UK GDPR

We design data handling around applicable UK GDPR and EU GDPR requirements, including access controls, retention policies and appropriate data transfer safeguards.

Drogheda studio, NI clients

We are an hour from Newry on the M1. Remote by default, face to face when it helps.

FAQ

Custom software development Northern Ireland: your questions

Web-based business systems: customer portals, internal tools, dashboards, booking systems, stock management, data integrations and anything that replaces a manual process with a proper digital workflow. The software runs in a browser, so there is nothing to install.
No. Our studio is in Drogheda, about an hour south of Newry on the M1. We work with NI clients remotely through video calls, shared staging links and written approvals. When a face-to-face meeting would help, Newry and Belfast are both practical journeys.
Many NI businesses sell on both sides of the border or deal with suppliers in the Republic. We handle dual-currency display, VAT differences, separate delivery zones and the practical details of serving customers in two jurisdictions.
By scope. We document what the system needs to do, agree what is included and excluded, and send a fixed written price. We can quote in euro or sterling, whichever suits your business. Ongoing support and maintenance can be quoted separately.
If your accounting, CRM, stock or payment system has an API, we can connect the new software to it. We also build middleware for systems that do not connect natively.
You do. Source code, hosting, domain and admin access are all in your name. Third-party libraries keep their own open-source licences, which we document. Any developer can continue the work.
We choose the stack that fits the project: typically Laravel and PHP for web applications, React or Vue for complex interfaces, PostgreSQL or MySQL for databases, and cloud hosting on EU infrastructure. We do not lock you into a proprietary framework.
There is no formal minimum. A focused internal tool is a smaller engagement than a multi-user platform. We scope every project individually and the price follows the work involved.
